The First State Harmonettes of Milford, DE, are a group of ladies of all ages who
like to harmonize a cappella in the barbershop style. We are from all walks of life
and leave our stresses, frustrations, burdens, and worries at the door when we meet
to sing this unique style of Barbershop Harmony.
The First State Harmonettes first formed in November 2001 in Milford and by December 2004 became an
officially registered chorus with Sweet Adelines International, Inc. We currently meet at the First
Presbyterian Church in Milford, Delaware, Tuesdays from
6:45pm-9:00pm.

Our first annual show November 5, 2006 “Rock & Roll” featured the quartet Diamond State 4 from the
Harmonizer’s chorus in Milford. Also featured were our 2 quartets-BaySide 4 and Colors of Harmony,
along with our double quartet Reflections. Our next show, “Keep America Singing” was in October 2008
at the Calvary Methodist Church in Milford. This show was a patriotic tribute to the music of America.
Featured quartets for this show were Colors of Harmony and BaySide 4. Also singing special selections
were the Section Leaders of FSH and FSH Double Quartet.

We perform throughout Kent and Sussex counties in such places as: the Delaware Agricultural Museum,
Smyrna Opera House, Milford and Kent General Hospitals, Westminster Independent Living, Genesis
Milford, Milford Hospital Fair, Dover on the Green Concert series, Pinnacle Nursing Facility, Greenwood
Flea Market, DE State Fair, Santa House in Milford, Delaware Electric CO-OP, and many other places.
